Miro 1.0 - Internet TV

Description from LORA:

Miro (formerly Democracy Player) is a free, open video platform that allows you to view not only video files from your CDs, but also online TV.

Of the main features are:

# Watching video in MPEG, Quicktime, AVI, H.264, Divx, Windows Media, Flash Video

# Create playlists and small icons previews, rating system

# Ability to download torrents

# Search and download videos YouTube, Yahoo !, Google Video, Blip

# Support for RSS and podcasts. Can find video even if only a link to the file is found in the tape

# Setting a limit on the disk for downloaded files

I read the description and was delighted - well, finally!

Released the program harvester ala amarok for video only. I don’t have an ideological hate for xulrunner, so I immediately installed it. I was somewhat disappointed.

Frank cons of the local collection:

- video piled up in one pile

- no tags

- ogg sound files were mistaken for video

- complete lack of video viewing settings

- for some reason, thumbnail is not present in all files (although they are perfectly reproduced)

I am not much spoiled by watching online video, but I noticed the following disadvantages of youtube search:

- no tag search

- no ratings

And the biggest disadvantage is the almost complete lack of settings for something. The program looks very poor. While Miro can only be used to watch videos from youtube, if for some reason you do not want to use the browser. Plus miro can be considered the ability to quickly get a link to the video file to save it for the future.

And of course there were no outright bugs:
