Large portals of Runet
Today I would like to talk about the coolest portals of the Russian segment of the Internet. I counted only 3 of them.
Onru.ru

Project OnRu.Ru opened in 2004. Currently an average of 30,000 visitors per day. Only 27 sections. Most projects are created in collaboration with large companies. for example, TV and radio are taken from corbina.tv, and the game Arena is simply a representation of arena.ru. Implemented search, it is carried out through WebAlta. Dating - partner site LovePlanet.ru. News is copied, casino is also affiliate, etc. The most popular sections: Dating, Flash cartoons and games.
From May 2005 to November 2006, attendance at the portal increased. Now stands still. In places where ideas are supposed to be advertising banners, Google Adsense blocks and banner exchange networks are hanging. Sadly It is worth looking at the prices of advertising and everything becomes clear.
But, probably, the creators of the portal so get a considerable income. Still would! For affiliate programs they have enough traffic. Each new section receives the attention of visitors to other, already promoted, sections.
Deport.ru
Deport.ru also opened in 2004. Belongs to the company "New Information Technologies" . Attendance averages 14,000 visitors per day. In contrast to the previous project, here, basically all sections are their own. The most popular: Abstracts, Software.
This portal has a very good directory of sites. It is the main search. The sections placed ads Google Adsense and Runner. In Adsense, they were even written about how to runet’s website, earning successfully in their system - see here .
The site has a nice design, cleverly “shoved” AdSense blocks everywhere. Sorry they did not tell me how much they earn on it.
Protonet.ru
And, finally, in my opinion the worst of the portal listed here is Protonet.ru . It opened in 1999. Once it was a normal site, but now it’s packed with ads. Only 15 sections. Attendance is about 17,000 visitors per day. There are banners of various banner networks and a small block of Google Adsense on all pages.
Here, of course, there is nothing to think about direct advertisers. Who will buy ads on this site?
That's all. The largest ones are three. Maybe there are a few other smaller ones, but they are not worth attention =)
