Changes in subscription to Google Apps. Registration for Google Apps Free is disabled.
Today I received this email from Google:
(Transfer) Starting today, the subscription to the new domains of the free Google Apps program is disabled, and the ability to switch to this version (with paid or trial) will be disabled for 30 days.
Why are such changes introduced? This will allow the Google Apps team to focus on providing one-stop service to their customers and resellers with improved service and support. ')

Starting today, we’re no longer available for 30 days.
Why are we making this change? Google for Business. Your sales process.
I think this has long been going on, for the last year quite a few changes have occurred in the product (more than in the last 3 years combined). Obviously, in order to provide services, something had to happen too. And now you can start using Google Apps only with a 30-day trial period.
