The other day App Annie has published the latest statistics on the analysis of the mobile application market for the last eight months. On the increase in revenue from Google Play by 311%, the growth of profits from the eastern region and the dominance of Asian publishers in the world top cash publishers read below (with a full translation of the report can be found on the website App2Top.ru).
According
to App Annie, Google Play revenue for 2012 increased by 311%, while App Store revenue increased by a modest 12.9%. Thus, the distance between the indicators of competing stoors significantly reduced. With the growth of Google Play revenue in October compared to the previous month by 17.9%, the App Store figures for the past period even fell by 0.7%. By the way, about the latter fact, Apple has already
turned to the resources that posted the App Annie report, wanting to refute the view that revenues from its market are falling.
As for the download rate, over the past 5 months, the number of downloads on the App Store has increased by only 3.3%, while at the same time, their growth on Google Play was 48%.

In many ways, according to App Annie, the Asian market has become the catalyst for the growing popularity of the platform. Both in terms of income and the number of downloads. But if by the number of downloads from Google Play, the United States is still the leader, then in terms of profit margins brought by Japan, Japan still shifted America from first place. For the "land of the rising sun" 29% of the total income of the store with only 6% of downloads. Note that Japan’s revenues on Google Play for the current calendar year have increased 10 times. In third place in terms of income (18%) is the South Korean market with 11% of downloads.

In the App Store, the picture is completely different. One-third of the revenue from the US brings, and from there, a greater number of downloads. 14% of the store's revenue and 6% of downloads are provided by Japan, and another 15% of downloads are provided by the App Store Chinese market.

The same attention is paid to the Asian region in the ranking of publishers Google Play. In the top ten most profitable publishers of the market - 8 Asian companies. The three leaders are exclusively Japanese publishers: DeNA, which published the main box office hit of this year - Rage of Bahamut, COLOPL and GungHo Online.

As for the App Store, the largest income platform provided Electronic Arts, numbering 962 projects on iOS. The second place with only two games belongs to the Finnish Supercell, the third place - for Zynga, which managed to move Gameloft and Apple itself.

Note that casual and arcade titles are predominantly present on the cash top of games on Google Play, while strategies and casinos are on the App Store.
