"Stream" filed a lawsuit against the orders of Rossvyaznadzor

The Moscow Arbitration Court accepted the lawsuit of “MTU-Intel” for disagreement with the order of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Communications (Rossvyaznadzor) to stop broadcasting television programs under the Stream-TV brand as part of broadband access services.

According to Rossvyaznadzor, in order to broadcast TV programs, the company must have a license for communication services for cable broadcasting purposes. Sistema Telecom does not agree with this: a license for broadcasting television programs as part of broadband access services is not needed, Sergey Schebetov, CEO of Sistema Telecom CJSC, told reporters.

Mr Schebetov also stressed that before the launch of Stream-TV, MTU-Intel sent two requests to the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications, in which it was requested to clarify which licenses are needed to broadcast under this brand. However, answers to both requests from the ministry were not received, Prime Tass reports.
