“Soft of the Year 2007” - the first national award

Mail.ru portal together with Softline announced the opening of the first national industry award, designed to support domestic manufacturers and identify the best among the best candidates for victory in the “Soft of the Year 2007”.

Voting, in which any user of the Mail.ru service can take part, will be held in seven nominations, from November 12 to December 12, 2007:
• "Interface"
• "Design"
• "Functionality"
• "Technology"
• "Reference"
• "Web site"
• “Support”
And exactly five days later, on December 17, the winners and prize-winners will be announced.
It should be noted that according to the regulations, the prize does not provide for any jury and predetermined nominees - all are decided by users.
“We deliberately went to the absence of the jury - let the best programs be chosen by the users themselves, those for whom they are intended,” says Stanislav Zharkov, project manager Soft@Mail.Ru
Thus, even an amateur programmer can win the prize, which only stirs interest in the competition.
As for the award, we asked Natalia Vyunikova, Deputy Director for PR at Softline, to talk about it.
“Since the Prize was born only this year, then she will have a start like a“ newborn ”- without pompousness, and the prizes will be awarded to the winners targetedly. What awards ceremony will be next year will be shown by the time and relevance of the event, which will depend on the voting participants. ”
