Remember the old short cartoon from Pixar (more like a headband) with a jumping lamp? So, the students of the University of Victoria were able to recreate such a lamp in reality. True, she does not know how to jump (at least for now), but she is closely monitoring her owner. In general, this project is intended, rather, to demonstrate the capabilities of the Arduino, and the Processing programming language, the project does not carry much practical load.
Among other things, students used OpenCV and a number of servo drives (of course). In all likelihood, this project will bring popularity to its developers, well, and their colleagues can be convinced of the inexhaustibility of Arduino's capabilities and ideas of devices based on this platform. The name of the project is Pinokio.

The lamp, by the way, is capable of tracking not only faces, but also responding to sound.
