I want to present you an overview of the interesting MiniTV. This device has been gaining popularity lately, several firmwares from enthusiasts have already appeared, but there has not yet been a review on Habré. The device was purchased by me on a famous Asian marketplace for $ 63, along with a keyboard (without a keyboard, its cost is $ 52). For such a cost, we get a device with interesting characteristics:
- CPU: Dual ARM Cortex A9 RK3066 (Two cores, running at 1 GHz, theoretically it can be overclocked to 1.6 GHz)
- GP: Mali-400MP (Four cores)
- RAM: 1GB DDR3
- Network: WiFi: 802.11 b, g, n
- OS: Android4.1.1 jelly bean
- 8GB internal storage
- Optional: 1 x miniHDMI, 1 x USB, 1 x miniUSB, 1 x microSD card reader

After a week of waiting, I received the parcel. The miniPC itself is in pretty transparent plastic packaging (the images are clickable):
The kit includes an HDMI cable (I had to replace it, because the standard one either refused to transmit information at all, or transferred with large losses), a power supply unit with miniUSB output, a miniUSB-USB adapter cable for connecting to a USB-OTG socket. The device itself has a soft-touch coating similar to Soft-touch:

You can see a two-way radiator through the vents (an overclocker in the depths of his soul advised to break the grille, put a large cooler on it with electrical tape and start overclocking the device):

On one side is USB for peripherals and miniUSB for power connections:

On the opposite side is a miniHDMI for connecting to a TV / monitor:

Here we have OTG-USB, to which, via an adapter, you can connect devices that support
OTG (: wiki) (and this is the majority of keyboards, mice, flash drives):

On the opposite side is the microSD card reader slot:

I also ordered a wireless keyboard with a touchpad:

The keyboard is not very comfortable, especially for the right hand, because It interferes with the touchpad, and with the right thumb it is difficult to reach the keys, holding it from the side. Although for a set of short request to the search engine or the address of the site it is enough. The touchpad has a special character: either it loses its sensitivity altogether and refuses to respond to touch, or it gets hypersensitivity and responds to the raised finger without touching. I had to replace it with a wireless mouse. Photo with a hand for size estimation:

I noticed the MK808 when I picked up a TV set-top box for my parents. It favorably distinguished cost from consoles (almost two times cheaper than the most budgetary media prefix) and the presence of Android as an OS, which made it possible to use a very large amount of software with GooglePlay.
Turn on the device. Loading from scratch takes about 15 seconds. Before us is the standard Android start screen (the boring wallpapers have already been replaced by me):

')
Let's see the OS version:

Check the connection speed. It turned out 3.6 Mbit / s for download and 0.9 Mbit / s for return. This is almost the maximum speed of my ADSL connection, although in many forums they write that the larger MK808 with a standard antenna does not produce:

Now, by tradition, we will launch “Evil Birds”. Your relatives will be delighted with this game on TV :):

To begin with, let's run synthetic benchmarks to determine performance. The first test was NenaMark2, showing 60fps throughout the test:

That in the general table gave a good result:

The next test was “AnTuTu Benchmark”. He showed slightly more modest results:

Now let's test the important, for us, functionality. We will play online Flash video in 1080p quality. In the incomplete screen mode, there are “slowdowns”, perhaps this is due to the fact that you have to render the page itself:

When switching to full screen mode, the “brakes” are gone, the video is played at a decent level:

Also note that in the full-screen mode Android'a toolbar is hidden, which is important.

I also used the WiTV program for the test. The device copes well with playback of streaming FullHD video, no hang-ups were noticed anywhere:

A connected external hard disk with a capacity of 2TB was detected and there were no problems with playback from it.
And finally, two screenshots of browsing habry:

Screenshots were downloaded and inserted into the topic directly from the device:

Total
For several weeks now, the MK808 has been successfully performing the functions of a media set-top box. Of course, there are some minor complaints: sometimes the incorrect operation of the flash player in full screen mode, once when disconnected from the network, you had to re-enter the WiFi password, although this refers to Android itself. Of the iron problems, as already mentioned above, the problem with the antenna, namely the low speed of WiFi. The link below provides a solution to this problem by removing the antenna.
