Microsoft launches Google-criticized Bing ad campaign

Microsoft took another step against Google by launching the Don't Get Scroogled advertising campaign, the name of which apparently means "don't get screwed over by Google" (do not allow Google to use you).

Microsoft opened the Scroogled site, on which Google is accused of unfair practice of ranking results for money in the Google Shopping search engine. Apparently, the decision made by Google earlier this year is meant to show only paid ads from Google Shopping in the main Google issue, Mashable writes . Previously, there were shown both paid and free ads.

“Of course, they say that the results of the issue are sorted by relevance, but in fact Google sells its shopping issuance,” says the video posted on the Scroogled website. “They are deceiving you by determining the relevance of how much they were paid. Do not allow you to use, you can miss the highest quality products at the best prices. " The page then prompts users to try out the Bing search engine for shopping.

A Google spokesman responded to a request for comment only saying that Google is "an excellent resource for buyers, allowing them to find what they need." Here is the full text of the statement:

“Google Shopping allows buyers to quickly find what they are looking for, compare different products and connect with sellers to make a purchase. With 360-degree online interactive product photos, social shopping lists and a rapidly growing list of over a billion products worldwide, Google is a great resource for shoppers to let them find what they need at great prices for their loved ones this holiday season. ”

At the same time, TechCrunch drew attention to the fact that there were questions to his own extradition of Bing. Bing recently began working with eBay’s Shopping.com resource. If before Bing received from sellers their own channels for inclusion in the issue, now the company says that it does not accept new sellers for this program. Instead, says Bing, retailers should work with Shopping.com. That is, Bing is only a platform for hosting Shopping.com data.
