RSS - who benefits?

There are a lot of articles lately on Habré and not only how to increase the number of subscribers to your RSS feed.

And what's the use of it? Benefit from this only to readers: the latest information, and nothing more than information. Fine. It is in their interest.

Why do many bloggers and website authors seek to increase the number of subscribers? Why is it if it is not profitable? Get traffic from the ranking of blogs on Yandex? Or the so-called PEAR reusursu due to the greater number of subscribers?
