How does Fishing Joy 2 in China manage to get $ 1.6 million per month

The CocoaChina experience shows that even in the Chinese market for Android applications, you can earn millions of dollars. The company reported that its game Fishing Joy 2 now in China earns more than 1.6 million dollars a month.

The casual game shows the conversion rate of free to paid players at 30% and the average daily earnings per active user (ARPDAU) at $ 0.40 - a figure that is great even for the American Apple App Store and absolutely incredible for the Chinese Android market (for example, in the last quarter Glu Mobile in Blood and Glory: Legends and Frontline Commando showed ARPDAU from 6.4 to 9.3 cents). According to China Mobile, in September, Fishing Joy 2 brought the company 4.5% of the total mobile gaming operator's profit.

What is the secret of success? Representatives of CocoaChina say that the money of Fishing Joy 2 lies in the strategy of wide distribution, the fight against piracy and, most importantly, access to the operator’s billing.

Fishing Joy 2 is now available in more than 200 Android app stores in China, which is significantly more than the standard approach of other developers. This greatly increased the cost of support and distribution, but so increased the "visibility" of the application that everything paid off thanks to the increased profits. “Income has doubled due to the scale achieved,” says the studio manager. "More importantly, a casual game like our scale is a key indicator for reaching the market."

CocoaChina also aggressively fights pirated versions. According to the company, piracy is still a big problem in China, where pirated games are offered directly in the form of an APK, supplemented by third-party SDKs and even malware. "Most Western titles, if they do not have a local presence or partners, you can find in the main stores of Android applications in the form of pirated versions with many downloads," - explains the developers. CocoaChina's efforts to eliminate pirated competitors are not cheap, but they are fully justified by the profit that the official versions of Fishing Joy 2 bring.

And finally, the most important part is billing of operators. CocoaChina received the status of Master CP (Content Provider) from several of the largest mobile operators, which made it possible to use direct access to the user's account in the game, downloaded from many of those hundreds of stores.

The developers say that operator billing brings 90% of the money to Fishing Joy 2. Operator billing is also widespread in South Korea and Japan, and high monetization rates can also be observed there. Given today's second news that China will surpass the United States in the number of smartphones - isn't it time to think about entering the Chinese market?
