According to
information from the official Opera Software website, on November 26,
Opera Software announced a partnership with
TIM , one of the leading mobile operators in Brazil (market share 26.81%). According to the agreement on the basis of the Opera Mobile Store, a new Brazilian mobile app store was created -
TIM App Shop . To launch a new store, in addition to its own platform, the
Opera Mobile Store , whose office opened in Odessa in the summer of 2012, provided the TIM network with a collection of several thousand mobile applications specially selected for Brazilian users.
The TIM App Shop is already available on all mobile phones sold on the operator’s network and, according to preliminary estimates, is able to attract more than 70 million subscribers from Brazil. Due to the high cost of broadband connection, most TIM subscribers access the Internet mainly from their mobile phones, therefore, the TIM App Shop will become a popular service among the operator’s subscribers, whose target audience, according to Data Popular Institute estimates, consists mainly of middle class people. Users can purchase paid mobile applications without a credit card - directly through a mobile operator. Back
in February, Opera Software launched its mobile payment system OPX (Opera Payment Exchange) for 160 million Opera Mini users.
“Over the past few months, we have invested a lot of effort to take the Opera Mobile Store to a new level. This is our first mobile app distribution partnership agreement with an operator from Latin America, and we are happy to provide Brazilians with a large collection of useful applications and mobile phone games in conjunction with TIM, “ said Opera CEO Lars Boylessen .

Today, more than 55,000 applications are available in the TIM App Shop - both paid and free - for the J2ME, Android, Symbian and BlackBerry platforms. Most applications are offered in two languages: English and Portuguese. Social media, games, music, news resources and weather are available in the TIM App Shop, for both budget mobile phones and smartphones.
