"Diggers" hacked Netscape.com

Netscape.com was hacked yesterday. The hackers exploited the Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in a fresh news engine that boldly copies the Digg site.

As you know, the portal Netscape.com opened in an updated form in June 2006. After its “second birth,” it became an almost exact copy of Digg and completely changed its own concept. This caused widespread user discontent and outrage among Digg fans. Moreover, the director of Netscape.com, in a very arrogant manner, offered the most active Digg users the amount of $ 1000 per month for going to it.

Hackers (obviously, they are fans of Digg), through the XSS vulnerability, injected their own scripts on the pages of Netscape.com, including the main page. These scripts displayed a system message with some comic text on the user's screen and forwarded it to Digg.com. Screenshots can be seen here , here and here .
