Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie)
In the last 2 days, articles appeared about the release of Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie), presumably in May 2013 .
It seems that the release of Android 5.0 is not far off, since the
results of the NenaMark Benchmark tests on the Sony LT30i phone have already been discovered, where it was stated that it works on Android version 5.0.0 (Key Lime Pie).
Previously it was thought that the codename Key Lime Pie bears the release of Android 4.2, but this rumor has been refuted by Google, confirming that the release will keep the name JellyBean. Key Lime Pie will work on tablets and smartphones - this is nothing new.
One of the blogs publishes the
characteristics of Android 5.0 , but they are listed as "desired", so there is no certainty that they are accurate.
New devices on Android 5.0
Sony Xperia LT30i
Sony recently announced that it is preparing a smartphone that can become a worthy opponent to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5. The model has not been officially announced, but most likely
it is the LT30i .
It is unlikely that official information on this model will appear earlier CES 2013, which will be held in Las Vegas. According to one source,
some characteristics of the phone are known :
- 1280X720 720p
- 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 CPU
- Qualcomm Adreno 220 GPU
LG Optimus G2
According to Korean media, LG electronics works on the LG Optimus G2 smartphone on Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) with a planned release in May 2013. From the characteristics
we know the following :
- 5 "Full HD LCD screen 440ppi
- 2.0GHz 4 core MSM8974 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Prime CPU
- 4G LTE
- camera with “backlight prevention” technology
Unfortunately, there is still no information about Android 5 smartphones that would support LTE and at the same time be relatively compact (with a screen of 4.0 inches or less).
