Yandex: “Russia has its own technologies that are used to using”

Recently, many sincerely worry about Yandex, which, as you know, is slowly but surely losing market share in the search engines. I decided to talk and ask a couple of questions about this, Dina Litvinova (PR Manager, Yandex). To begin with, I wanted to find out what goals Yandex had set for new services, such as: the weather informer, calendar, etc. And that's what I got in return:

The calendar and weather widget are applications to the existing services of Yandex (the first is for the Poster and the TV program, the second is for the Weather). Their task is to make these services even more convenient.

A stingy answer, isn't it? :) And, of course, I would like to know if they “forgot” about improving the quality of the search? After all, the search is the main, top-priority “product”. And also, as Yandex looks at statements: that instead of improving the quality of search, Yandex pays attention to mediocre services.

Just like the question: “Did you stop drinking brandy in the morning?” ;-) Of course, we remember that the search is our main service, how can we work on it every day?

Hope, hope :). And finally, their opinion on strengthening the position of the main competitor of the search engine Google:

We respect the activities of Google, as well as all the rest of our competitors in the Russian market. And in general, Russia has its own technologies, which are accustomed to use and the quality of which was estimated by millions of people.

In general, after the conversation, I personally got the impression that Yandex either does not betray a great deal of reduction (albeit insignificant, but, it seems to me symbolic) of their share of search traffic in Runet, or they hide it well. Nevertheless, I also sincerely hope that Yandex will be a leader for a long time, at least in the Russian segment. And she will not try to base her leadership only on the fact that “ they are used to them ”. :)
