Two days after the announcement of Android, November 7, information appeared about the first application for the new mobile platform. A start-up
WhatsOpen.com , which is still modestly silent about its achievements, has distinguished
itself .
The company has created a web-based application that demonstrates to users nearby stores and other establishments, complementing with information on opening hours - “what’s open” - “what is open”, running on the Android platform. The leak of information about the upcoming release of the application is organized according to all the laws of the genre -
Valleywag got a whistleblower who said that WhatsOpen.com was preparing a secret project and found a handful of vague screenshots, while the author casually mentions that Sergey Brin knows about the project, but recommends for the time being keep your mouth shut.

The application looks like Google maps-mashup, the shops that are currently open are highlighted on the map. In the description of the application, it is reported that users will be able to create reviews of these stores (“be an insider,” so suggests one of the accompanying texts).

Quickly looking at the phone screen, the user can select a location, determine the address, phone number, working hours, and spice up this information with a fair amount of user-generated content, including images, ratings, reviews. There are no more problems of unknown directions, no problems with being late to the closure of stores, encouraging WhatsOpen.com.

So far - not a word from either Google or WhatsOpen.com about the project, but already from this leakage we can judge what the applications in the Android mobile world will look like:
1. Search - everywhere, why limit yourself to a virtual environment?
2. Basis - Google services.
3. The driving force is the active participation of users in creating the information field.
