OpenStreetMap switches to Leaflet instead of OpenLayers

For a long time, the main site OpenStreetMap used the OpenLayers javascript library as a means for displaying geographic maps on the site with the possibility of enlarging, reducing and dragging it with the mouse, as well as selecting “layers” (maps and labels).

Yesterday (November 23), the OpenStreetMap website switched to using the Leaflet library, which is able to do the same, being notable for better support of mobile devices, both small in size and a good API.

This is a bright day for Vladimir Agafonkin ( Mourner ), the creator of Leaflet, and for all those who helped this open source project - sent their code, helped with ideas, tested it.

Yes, and all users of OpenStreetMap will now be more comfortable.
