It was always interesting how they make movies, whether it is possible without a large budget to get a high-quality picture using amateur equipment and amateur skills.
I'll tell you how I shot a video for the contest and what I used for it.
It was necessary to remove a parody of any film, lasting 60 seconds. Chose "Leon".
There is no experience in such filming, just a couple of times I shot reports.
After I came up with a small story, I began to make a storyboard, I do not know how to draw, but for myself, in principle, I understand.
It was necessary to be limited to a minimum of actors and a minimum of scenery, ideally one actor and one room, but in my case it didn’t work out that way, I stopped at 3 characters and 3 locations. I chose actors from friends, found two and decided that for the third character I can stay in the frame myself.
I started the search for props, the main difficulties were delivered by round-rimmed glasses, I don’t know why, but this is a shortage in our city, I finally found it through my friends. I took the rest for a while too, bought only a sheet of A1 format, a tablecloth in a cage, printed out photos.

The next stage is equipment. A Canon 550d camera ($ 590), I have two lenses for it, a Canon 50 1.8 ($ 120) and a Sigma 30 1.4 ($ 490).
Tripods, constantly writing everywhere, that the main sign of amateur video is shaking. $ 30 for both.
When shooting on open apertures, there is a very high probability of focusing errors, to make this probability a little less, you need an external HDMI monitor or such a device
View Finder, attached to the camera with a magnet, a Chinese noname, costs about $ 20.
In order to record video in FullHD with sound without any problems, the camera needs a memory card of at least 6 classes, I have 10 classes, so I did not have any problems, I have a SanDisk 16GB 16G Extreme SD SDHC Class 10, 45MB / S card - it costs 25 $ 30. You could get by with cheaper options.
Of the three locations for filming, one was in the room, I decided not to complicate the situation and remove this scene at home. I used ordinary, economical lamps, a rack and a holder with cartridges for lighting. For all together about $ 35-40.
In the video I wanted to add a voice-over text and in one place the text with articulation. I worked with sound for the first time, I will say in advance that it turned out to be of very poor quality. I used the RodeVideoMic microphones for $ 160 and the Chinese radio loop for $ 20.

In the process of filming the main problem was the discrepancy between desire and opportunity, everything in my head was very beautiful and impressive, but in practice, with such equipment, it was not possible to realize this. Frequent focus errors, inconvenience of shooting video with a camera.
Next was the installation, used Adobe After Effects for slowing down, color correction, etc., Sony Vegas for the main roller assembly
That's basically all, from all this I made for myself the conclusion that good quality is inevitably high costs, even here, if we take it all together, about $ 1500 came out, this is from scratch, and so I already had most of the equipment, therefore, the budget is almost zero.
