Finnish police confiscated the laptop of the girl who downloaded the album from torrents

A nine-year-old girl lost her laptop with Winnie the Pooh while investigating a copyright violation case. The girl found Kisu's album via Google on The Pirate Bay website - and downloaded it for review. However, its IP address was calculated by the Finnish organization TTVK . She sent a letter claiming damages in the amount of 600 euros.

The girl’s father said that they didn’t manage to launch the downloaded songs, so the next day they went to the store and bought a CD. My daughter then went to the concert of her favorite singer. My father sent photos of a CD and a concert ticket to TTVK in the hope that this would serve as a mitigating circumstance. But it did not help. On Tuesday, November 20, there was a knock at the door. The police came with a search warrant - and confiscated the crime instrument, that is, the laptop. Taking the laptop with Winnie the Pooh, the police said that it would be better for everyone if they paid compensation.

The girl's father says that he still cannot believe in the reality of what is happening, that this is in fact. He said that his daughter was not punished. “Even adults sometimes do not know how to use a computer, what do you want from a nine-year-old girl,” he says.

Representatives of the Electronic Frontier Foundation have already defended the girl, as well as the singer Kisu herself, who additionally published a link to the page with her free music on Spotify.

Representatives of the Pirate Party of Finland welcomed the singer's comment, but also noted that the songwriter in such a situation could not influence anything.
