YouTube Uploader downloader released, file size increased to 1 GB

Good news from the YouTube project. Firstly, today the distribution site of a small program YouTube Uploader has been uploaded , with which you can upload entire collections of files to the site. It is much more convenient and faster than through the web interface. The program works only under Windows, but soon there will be a version for Mac, the official blog reports .



Secondly, simultaneously with the advent of “multiloader”, the maximum limit on files has been raised. From today, the maximum file size is 1 GB (it used to be 100 MB). Developers warn that for large files the processing time on the servers increases (conversion to .flv format). Now, from the moment of downloading until the publication of the video will have to wait up to half an hour. It should be noted that the maximum duration of videos on YouTube has not changed and is only 10 minutes. Apparently, the fighters with copyright infringement do not allow such an obvious improvement in functionality.



For comparison, even in the Russian clone RuTube the length of videos can be up to 30 minutes.
