Airtel and Google donated a month and a half in an Indian prison

On the last day of the summer, the gallant Indian police paid a visit to the unsuspecting Lakshmani Kailash, a 26-year-old resident of Bangalore. It was his home address was given to the police after a joint investigation by Google and the provider Airtel .

Lakshmani Kailash was immediately charged with publishing an irrelevant photograph on Orkut , which, apparently, was depicted in a funny light by Chhatrapati Shivaji, the national Indian hero and founder of the Marathi empire. Despite the fact that Shivaji died in the seventeenth century, the result of this "joke" was a mass uprising in Pune (India) in November last year.

And on the third of October they found and arrested the real perpetrators. The accusation was lifted from Lakshmani, but he was released only on the twentieth day.

The police denies their fault in what happened and points to the provider. The provider, in turn, expresses sincere regrets. Google declares that they have no choice but to cooperate with the authorities.

Presumably, a month of free Internet and a premium Google Mail account will not make innocent Lakshmani smile again after 50 days in overcrowded Indian prisons.
