Vkontakte closed for users without a mobile phone
There are hardly many paranoids left who did not confirm their pages on the social network VKontakte using a phone number, however, this morning turned out to be not the most pleasant for them. When you try to open the web version, a notification appears about the need to enter a mobile phone number, and no tricks to bypass this page help. At least I did not find them.
Much more interesting is the situation with mobile clients: the version of VKontakte for Android, when launched for a second, shows a tape of friends, but then throws it onto the login page. When you try to enter a username and password, the application simply closes. Not very user-friendly, especially for those who did not go to the web version.

The rest of the applications for the most part simply do not load the data without producing any errors. Actually, because of the strange behavior of mobile clients, I decided to add a post to the VKontakte API hub: if some of your users do not have the program working for a strange reason, it may be because of a missing mobile number.
The light version, which is opened via the browser, is also not so smooth: after logging in, Vkontakte redirects to the same page as when logging in from a computer, which is not critical because of its size, but unpleasant due to unadapted screens.
You can understand the developers: why in the social network is a huge number of dead, if not fake accounts? The latter, of course, also do not work - I still have a couple of old ones created before entering the mandatory confirmation of a mobile phone. (To search for vulnerabilities when sending messages, no spam - net interest).
Nevertheless, the paranoia of the old school left behind. I do not think that there are too many of them, but the fact of their presence is slightly unpleasant. Especially those who belong to them.
PS: I am well aware that with 99.999% probability VKontakte will not sell my phone number to attackers and will not use it for evil. But freedom on the Internet is the possibility of anonymity. Let the anonymity of this fake, destroyed by personally entered name-surname and uploaded photos, but for now I have the opportunity for at least 20 minutes to make someone doubt that I am not me, I am 20 minutes ahead.
