Hi Habr! Today it became known that in February, at the ISSCC conference, Samsung will introduce an eight-core ARM chip, made using Big.little technology. At its core, SOC will represent a cluster of two quad-core processors created using the 28nm process technology. The first processor is designed for everyday tasks, based on the ARM A7 architecture with a maximum clock frequency of 1.2 GHz. The second is designed for demanding tasks, architecture A15 and frequency 1.8 GHz, respectively. However, it should be noted that the processors will not work at the same time, but will switch in the background depending on the needs of the OS. You can read more about Big.little architecture here .
