Yesterday,
comScore published the results of a study on the European segment of the Internet, based on data collected through the World Metrix audience measurement service.
It turned out that the Russian Federation ranks first in terms of the growth rate of the number of Internet users. In September of this year, the number of Russian users of the Network was 14.6 million, which is 23% more than in the same month last year. The second place is occupied by Spain, showing an 18% growth of the Internet audience (14.5 million users), and the third place is Ireland with its 16% increase in the number of users (in September their number was 1.5 million).
This is a good indicator, but still in terms of the ratio of the Internet audience to the total number of citizens of the country, Russia is inferior to all other 15 European countries participating in the study. Only 12% of Russians over 15 years of age regularly use the Network. These results confirm the data of the Public Opinion Foundation, which state that
about 11% of Russians over 18 years old
are online on the Internet (18% a week, and 23% a month).

The published results also indicate that on average, Russians spent 13.7 hours on the Web in September. This is also the lowest among all countries. Here, apparently, the still not rare dial-up in the outbacks affects, which is charged by time, not by traffic.
