Disposal of printed circuit boards in hot water

Employees from the UK National Physical Laboratory demonstrated the capabilities of their material for printing electronic circuits, their use in various devices and further easy disposal in hot water so that the electronic components themselves are almost immediately ready for reuse.

The material in question is made of “unzippable polymeric layers” ( uncompressed polymer layers ?) That are able to withstand a long-term temperature change, but are stratified upon contact with hot water. If such a fee is placed in a container with boiling water, then the electronic circuits after some time can literally be “scraped off” and transferred to them for further work or disposal.

It is argued that in this way 90% of the components of the new printed circuit boards can be used again, whereas in the case of conventional ones, only 2%.
