The word "Git" among developers, as a rule, causes two diametrically opposite reactions. Alone with his sound, he begins to excitedly share stories and experiences. Another one - says that Git is a very dangerous and difficult to learn tool, around which an undeserved hype has recently risen. So who is right? The
Git & Github meeting at the Kiev office of EPAM Systems was devoted to analyzing this issue.
On November 9, over 50 curious developers and some experienced Git users gathered in our cafeteria to work together to find the truth, which, as they say, is somewhere in the middle.
The speakers prepared thoroughly:• illustrated with examples of “fusion magic” that Git is famous for;
www.slideshare.net/InnaKravchenko/shytikov-git-magic-eng• conducted a small practical Git-literacy program for “new believers”;

• discussed the difficulties of working in large teams (the guru was made by an experienced developer with three years of experience using Git in a corporate environment);
www.slideshare.net/InnaKravchenko/git-pavel-grushetsky• shared their experience in implementing Git without destroying the existing customer infrastructure (built on the TFS system).
Above posted a brief presentation of this meeting. A video is also being prepared. Follow the announcements.
