One picture is worth a hundred words, and moreover it gives an impression more quickly.
As you know, the talisman symbol
(mascot) of the Fidonet Network is a lop-eared dog sitting with a floppy disk, which it carefully holds in its teeth. Its text (pseudo-graphic) image is found, for example, in the Fidonews Fidonews weekly, where it looks like this:
__
/ \
/ | oo \
(_ | / _)
_` @ / _ \ _
| | \\\
| (*) | \))
______ | __U__ | / \ //
/ FIDO \ _ // || _ \ /
(________) (_ / (_ | (____ /
')
It is also well known that Thomas Jennings, the creator of the network, drew her logo by hand:

A thought did not leave me for several years (I stated it
both separately and in habrasorsing ) - the idea that it would be nice to make icons from this dog (16 × 16, 32 × 32, 48 × 48, 64 × 64 pixels) for used
in the HTML tag <link rel = "shortcut icon" href = "..."> , and in Windows, and in other graphical interfaces.
I am pleased to announce today
that DarkWood embodied this idea. I present to you the icons drawn by him, which, with his consent, will be distributed under the

Black and white pixels, sharp contours, to the strict rectangular shapes. As you can see,
DarkWood painted approximately in the style that was characteristic of Fidonet's contemporaries - the Apple Lisa operating system, which once became one of the first samples of a graphical user interface. Here is a Wikipedia screenshot for comparison:

Retro. Vintage. Exactly what was needed.
