Microsoft fired CIO for violating company policies

Microsoft dismissed IT director Stuart Scott for "violating company policies."

Microsoft refused to provide additional information, saying only that "cooperation with Stuart Scott was discontinued after checking for evidence of violations of the company's policies."

Scott got a job with Microsoft in 2005, having worked 17 years before at General Electric. In 2003, Stewart was listed as one of the top 100 CIOs by CIO Magazine.

At Microsoft, Stewart Scott was responsible for the information structure of the products being developed and was subordinated to Kevin Turner, the company's operations director.

Until a new CIO candidate is found, Microsoft’s general manager Shahla Aly and corporate vice president Alain Crozie will fulfill Stewart’s duties.
