A brief note for those interested.
Prehistory Until recently, most Motorola custom firmwares have always worked with the stock core. Those. it was possible to have Milestone A853 Custom ROM with Gingerbread 2.3.7 or even Honeycomb, but it all worked on the 2.2 kernel from the official firmware through a bunch of layers and supports, which did not add joy (let alone about stability). The alternative bootloader
2ndboot worked, but the
telephone module also
fell off . A competitor to PSP or iTouch from Mllestone - no :)
So, just a few weeks ago, we managed to launch the
2ndboot with a working telephone module! As a result, in the camp of developers now reigns vigorous recovery (so far, mainly for MS1 and MS2) - custom firmware happily crawl to the last core and even started the process of porting CM10 (Android 4.1 JB) to Milestone. It is clear that miracles are not expected of him, but it's nice :) Soon, I think, we can expect the appearance of the “correct” 2ndboot for other Motorola models.
I changed my Milestone to
CM7 7.2.4b with an updated kernel. Compared with the previous 7.2.x (without 2ndboot), it seems to work smoother and smoother. "It seems" - because it is still too early to draw conclusions, and the placebo effect is not excluded. The camera starts up exactly faster. Glitches have not yet seen. I think in a month it will be possible to begin experiments with the CM10 port. Who cares - uncover Mileston's and share your impressions.
