Stephen Sinofsky left Microsoft

Windows President Stephen Sinofsky left Microsoft, where he worked for more than twenty-three years. As usual, many press releases state that Steve was a part of the company and its success was to a large extent his merit. However, Microsoft said in an official statement that the decision to leave was mutual and planned, and AllThingsD believed that the reason for leaving was the growing tension between Sinofsky and the rest of the top management of the corporation. Among the specific results of the work of the former head of the Windows division, such products as Microsoft Office and Windows XP are usually referred to, and the popularity of the latter only recently managed to overcome Windows 7.

TheVerge publication, citing insiders, argues that Sinofsky’s resignation is not a problem with either Windows 8 or Surface, two of the company's key products that have just recently been released to the market. Sinofsky himself is described as a man with a rude and somewhat repulsive behavior, tightly controlling his responsibilities, and playing an even bigger role in the company than Steve Ballmer.

Steven Sinofsky wrote a letter to Microsoft employees, in which, however, nothing concrete about the reasons for leaving was tired, problems with other top managers, illness (as Steve Jobs did in his time) did not say. Several authors believe that Sinofsky’s remit was extremely broad, ranging from Windows 8 to the Surface Tablet, so control over everything was not very effective and required more careful attention to each of the areas, both software and hardware. In this sense, Microsoft shows no less flexibility than the other grand Apple, which recently broke up with senior vice president Scott Forstoll, whose reason for leaving was, however, called the Apple Maps scandal.

Two women will act as the curator of Windows development and marketing - the current Microsoft Vice President Julia Larson-Green (worked on the Visual C ++ IDE, user experience for Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0, and in 1997 headed the FrontPage team) and Finance Director Tami Reller respectively.
