India has released the second version of the ultra-cheap tablet

The British company Datawind has released the second version of its Aakash 2 tablet, according to Mashable. This is an Android device that will be available to students at a very low price.

The market price of Aakash 2 will be 3,500 rupees (64 dollars), but for the Indian government the tablet will cost 2,263 rupees (41 dollars), and with government subsidies, the price for students will be only 1,130 rupees (21 dollars).

Aakash 2 has a 1-gigahertz Cortex A8 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of memory (expandable up to 32 GB through microSD) and a 7-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels - not the best option, but sufficient for most tasks.

The tablet will run on Android 4.0, and this is another step forward compared to the original Aakash, which was released last year and had only a 366 MHz processor and Android 2.2 on board.
