A few hours left before the start of Round 1 of the Russian AI Cup Championship. The excitement continues to grow: residents of different countries will compete in the ability to write artificial intelligence.
Due to the fact that there are more and more people willing to participate, the organizers of the Russian AI Cup - Odnoklassniki and Saratov State University - decided to increase the number of strategies participating in Round 1. Thus, not 600, but 900 strategies will be selected for the first round.
The modified tournament grid looks like this:

Round 1 will be held from 10 to 11 November 2012. Fight type - 6x1. This stage will consist of two parts. There will be a break between the two parts, during which the Sandbox will resume work. By the way, the break can be used to improve your strategy, taking into account the results of the first part. Each part will last 12 hours, a break - 24 hours.
For battles in each of the parts of Round 1, the last correct strategy will be selected, sent before the beginning of the corresponding part. Fighting will be conducted in waves. In each wave, each strategy will take part in exactly one battle. The number of waves will not be less than 10, but not more than 100. We hope to have time to test exactly 100 waves in each part, but much will depend on the speed of your strategies.
Attention, change!
Six participants in each fight will be randomly formed in an equally probable way (unlike the Sandbox, where the strategy has great chances to fight with an equal). In addition, a rating similar to the Formula 1 rating will be applied to form a table of the results of Round 1. A certain number of points will be awarded for a place in combat strategy:
• 1st place - 10 points
• 2 place - 6 points
• 3rd place - 4 points
• 4th place - 3 points
• 5th place - 2 points
• 6th place - 1 point
The top 300 strategies based on the results of Round 1 will be held in Round 2. If the rating is equal, priority is given to the participant who previously sent the strategy.
To those who have not yet joined the championship, we remind: The sandbox is still open. In addition, you can fight in the Sandbox, even after flying out of the championship: there will be winners there too.
After Round 1 in the Sandbox, another type of combat will be added - three opponents, two tanks each. This type of combat will be used in Round 2.
