This year, within the
Imagine Cup, there will be several project competitions, one of which is games. If you want to create (or have already created) a game, in any of its manifestations: for a Windows Phone smartphone, Windows 8, for the Xbox or for the web - apply for a game contest! Even if you only have an idea for the game, you don’t know where to start, you are looking for like-minded people, you have questions on technology, the Imagine Cup team will help you!

The project competition for games will be held in Russia as well as other software projects in previous years:
- Application deadline - February 15, 2013.
- Regional finals and online tour (for those who cannot participate in the regional final in person) - March 2013
- Russian final - April 2013
I would like to remind you that the international final of the competition will also be held in Russia, in the city of St. Petersburg. Participants of the final are waiting for an unforgettable event and the winners of the biggest prizes in the history of the Imagine Cup.

Programmers, artists, musicians! You can all participate in the competition!
Creating a game is a very interesting task. On the one hand, it is fascinating, but on the other hand, it is replete with difficulties of a different nature. In order for this to not become an obstacle for you in the realization of your ideas, we will help you in various ways. For example, you will be able to directly ask technical questions to a Microsoft expert on the whole range of technologies related to the creation of games: DirectX, XNA, Kinect, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Phone platforms, and many others.
You know how to program, but you can't draw and make music? Or vice versa, you know how to draw but you know little about programming and want to participate in a competition? It does not matter, we will help you not only to understand the technologies but also to create a real team able to cope with the most ambitious goals! The most important thing is the desire to achieve results and perseverance.
Where to begin.
Already, you can register on the updated site
imaginecup.ru . When registering, we ask you to briefly describe your game idea in order to also participate in a local idea contest. Already, there are several dozen game ideas in the Exchange of Ideas.
The main way to get additional information will be regular online meetings within the competition.
The next meeting will be held in a few weeks, December 3. Wait for the announcement in the student blog at
blogs.msdn.com/b/rustudentsI will be the curator of the game contest, you can ask me questions in the comments to this post or on Twitter
