Ministry of Economic Development is going to fight torrents

The Ministry of Economic Development has included in the draft guidelines for the activities of the Russian government for the period until 2018 a clause on combating the distribution of illegal content. The fight against torrents, according to the ministry, is one of the tasks in the framework of the “secure Internet area”. Along with the destruction of p2p networks, it is proposed to develop content filtering systems and strengthen the fight against child pornography.

What is interesting, along with the aforementioned unfortunate measures, the documents provide for the simultaneous attraction and stimulation of citizens to use the Internet web. It is expected that the percentage of active network users will rise from 42% to 77%.
