Long-awaited update of Google Analytics: Universal Analytics
At the Analytics Partners Summit in Mountain View, Google announced the release of a beta version of a new data collection protocol called Universal Analytics. This is an extremely important “under the hood” update that will allow you to:
Pass the user ID to Analytics on the site in order to read unique users correctly.
Configure most of the counter settings (list of search engines, session duration, keywords are exceptions) in the admin panel, and not in the JS code.
Transfer data to Analytics from any system using the open tracking API, not just from websites.
Add to Analytics information about conversions that have occurred offline (by sending special events, for example, from CRM).
Add new indicators and parameters (dimensions and metrics) to the Analytics interface.
Send traffic information to the meter to calculate ROI.

They promise changes in tagging links and other news, waiting.
