Droga5 launched the project Honeyshed , which, according to the developers, should become a “hotbed” of viral videos advertising various products.
Launched in May of this year, Honeyshed is a collection of short comedy sketches that are either recorded or broadcast live, which advertise certain products, like cosmetics or DVDs. The site is designed for an audience of 18-30 years.
Now the site Honeyshed is in the open beta, which began this week, and its official launch is scheduled for December 2007.

Now the site is served by 40 to 50 full-time employees working in Los Angeles. At the moment the site contains 30 videos lasting 2-3 minutes, but in addition to them 70 more videos are ready. Instead of doing shows aimed at advertising specific brands, Honeyshed makes videos showing products of various categories.
Site visitors can share videos with friends and embed it in their sites, otherwise what kind of viral videos will they be? Also on the site there is a chat so that you can discuss the advertised product with other viewers, and links for quick purchase of goods.

Droga5 wanted to ensure that Honeyshed presented the goods in a form that was less intrusive to the consumer, but advertisers are still not in a hurry to sign an agreement under which their products will be advertised on this site.
