Paul Seglia (web designer) back in 2010, filed a lawsuit against Facebook. He assured that Mark, when he was a student, had signed a contract with him, according to which Paul now owns a portion of Facebook shares. According to him, the contract fixed the conditions for software development, and Mark promised him a part of the shares in exchange for $ 1,000 to launch the project. On the part he did not decide - from 50% to 84%. The trial has been going on for two years now, Facebook representatives call Paul a scam, and all the documents provided to them are fakes. But now Facebook has taken the side of the state, which also doubts the truthfulness of Paul’s claims, and now Seglia has been charged.
The State Procurator for the Southern District of New York opened a criminal case (fraud) against Paul, accusing him of using the US Postal Service to deliver fraudulent documents. Citing the ruling, “there is reason to believe that Paul Seglia created a fraud scheme designed to receive multibillion-dollar profits from Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg. Seglia filed a federal lawsuit, claiming that he has the right (at least) to half of the company's shares. ”

The situation could get the next development - the claim of Paul would simply have been rejected and that's all. However, now he can wait for imprisonment, as "Seglia deliberately made efforts to deceive Mark, Facebook, and also in every possible way interfered with the course of court proceedings."
Orin Snyder (Gibson Dunn office, Facebook and Mark interests):
“We highly appreciate the decision of the prosecutor to indict Seglia for fraud. Paul used the federal judicial system for his own PR, trying to perpetuate his crime. And now will bear the responsibility for it.
On Friday morning, Paul was arrested.
Randall S. Till, Federal Postal Service Representative:
“When Mr. Seglia used the postal service to falsely accuse Facebook, he underestimated the service’s determination to hold him accountable.
If found guilty, he will face up to 40 years in prison.
