Presentation of the RUSSWI team

The RUSSWI team (RUSsia-SWItzerland) includes experienced professionals in areas such as engineering, medicine, sales and marketing, research and development management. All team members have years of experience with a number of successfully completed projects.

The key measurements of the prototype MRL created so far, on which a number of indications and calculations about the patient’s condition are based, are blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen enrichment rate and arterial elasticity.

The following diseases can be identified by the developed MDS:

The introduction of additional sensors in the device will allow to diagnose:

The created prototype of the MDU measures blood pressure, pulse rate, ECG, the degree of enrichment of blood with oxygen. This device is also equipped with a wireless communication channel with an external device (smartphone, PDA). Developed applications for the "cloud" service, which in the future will become a center for collecting and processing information from the MRLs.

The instrument's readings for measuring pressure depend not only on blood pressure, but also on the nature of the pressure sensor’s contact with the skin (including on the tension of the arm muscles or on the degree of tension of the MDU bracelet), as well as on atmospheric pressure. These factors can be measured and taken into account to obtain only blood pressure values. This work requires a large number of experimental studies to develop special software that will process the readings of the sensors and highlight the necessary ones in them, namely the blood pressure in mm Hg. Some studies in this direction have already been done, but further refinement of electronics and software is required.

Over the next 18 months it is planned to complete the development and begin the process of testing and certification. The first prototypes will appear in the 4th quarter of 2013. The implementation phase of the MDU for testing in clinics and companies will begin in the first quarter of 2014.

Externally, the device looks like a wrist watch and is worn on the wrist in the usual way. MDU has a high-quality display that distinguishes it from cheap watches. The display is also important as part of the user interface. The device is controlled by only three buttons. Thus, without using an external smartphone, the user can control the device at any time and view the automatically registered parameters 24/7. To charge the built-in Li-Pol battery and update the internal software, the device is equipped with a micro-USB interface. The device is also equipped with a Bluetooth wireless connection, both for communication with an external smartphone or CPN, as well as with some additional external sensors of human parameters (for example, a liquid analysis sensor). On the smartphone, additional software can be implemented for visualization and additional resource-intensive calculations of the collected MDL information.

An MRL can be used by each person individually as a personal device. The most likely consumers are people with a specific risk group for cardiovascular diseases; athletes; people leading a healthy lifestyle.
