JSter - everything you need for Javascript

How difficult is it to collect all the Javascript libraries in one place? The task, of course, is not easy, the web developer from sunny Finland Juho Vepsäläinen took about seven months to do it. His project JSWiki contains more than 30 categories that list a wide variety of projects for frontend development. How many libraries and utilities there are mentioned it is very difficult to count. First of all, because the directory is poorly structured and contains almost nothing but links.

Nevertheless, JSWiki served us as an excellent base for the new JSter project. Together with Juho Vepsäläinen, we have developed the most comprehensive open Javascript directory. It has almost 700 libraries (mostly open-source) and any user can add to the list.

So far, we have nothing for Node.JS, too much data — about 16,000 packets have been registered on NPM , and there is already a similar project for the node - node-toolbox . We focused on the front end, and most importantly, on a better and more comprehensive structuring of projects. We rank libraries according to their popularity on Github, plus we take user ratings into account.

Why do you need it? New sliders, lightboxes, game engines, and even frameworks are constantly being released. It is very difficult to follow them, and then find the necessary projects in the tabs. Now you can view all possible alternatives in one place.

We will be glad to any help in the development of the project. Add projects, rate them, comment.
