A couple of weeks ago,
I happened to mention that in the Soviet district court of the city of Orel, the prosecutor's office demanded that the
Orlets site, built using wiki technology (on the MediaWiki engine) and allowed free editing by anyone, be considered extremist. (In brief, I remind you: the court was presented the results of the FSB operational search activities, which found six
wiki articles of extremist content on the site, but under such controversial circumstances that the defense declared these materials thrown on the site,
and Orlets was eventually justified. )
And today (October 23) in the morning another news appeared
on the RIA Novosti website , close to the previous one. Using the law “On protecting children from information harmful to their health and development” that came into force on September 1, the Oryol prosecutor’s office filed a new lawsuit in the same Sovetsky district court, which requires one of the local providers to restrict the access of pupils of
lyceum No. 22 to Wikipedia - under the pretext that Wikipedia has an article
“ Russian mat ” containing many obscene expressions.
(Just in case, I remind you that Wikipedia is also a wiki on the MediaWiki engine, and even the most famous wiki among these.)
')
So we see that the enforcement of the new law is not exchanged for trifles.
Last week, they blocked Ubuntu, today they are threatening Wikipedia, and the second month after the law came into force has not ended.
