Crowd funding without using third-party services on the example of Star Citizen

At the time of this writing, almost $ 1 million has already been donated to the Star Citizen project. Every time I update the Star Citizen fundraising page, the number gets bigger. Soon the amount will be truly space, and Chris Roberts will have to fulfill all these promises. He could use Kickstarter to raise funds, but his game proves that you can do without it.

The current goal is 2 million dollars. In 5 days, 1/3 of the amount was already collected, and due to the influx of money (willing to deposit funds), the site has already fallen at least once. Perhaps this does not fully justify Roberts' all expectations, but there are already excellent chances that his game in all-anything-in-space will be financed.

The game is expected to be released at the end of 2014, and many people are already paying to be part of this universe. I made $ 60, because I’m unrealistically in love with the cosmos since the days of Wing Commander (if anyone knows, Chris has created this game). Roberts is right - there were no normal kosmosim for a long time and everyone just waited.
