In October 2006, the NAUET will publish the “National Procurement Transparency Rating”

The National Association of Electronic Commerce Participants (NAUET) and the Interregional Public Movement “Against Corruption” are planning to publish data from the National Procurement Transparency Rating in October 2006, Prime-Tass reports, citing the press service of NAUET.

Participants in the rating will be the largest government buyers and leaders of the Russian corporate sector. The objective of the project is to assess the level of transparency and efficiency of procurement methods of the largest national buyers of the state and corporate sectors, based on the criteria of transparency, competitiveness and efficiency of procurement. In the process of compiling the rating, it is intended to identify systemic deficiencies in the procurement methods of participants that contribute to the occurrence of corruption.

The public sector will be represented in the ranking by federal buyers, 50 regions of the Russian Federation, leading in terms of purchases and 50 largest municipal buyers. All 16 ministries and 20 federal services and federal agencies leading in annual purchases will be among the federal buyers.
