Hackers have attacked the US State Department

The US State Department is currently conducting recovery work after a massive attack by hackers who managed to penetrate the computer system of the US foreign ministry and tried to gain access to confidential information, Itar-Tass reported, citing the Associated Press .

The attack began in mid-June and the main objects were the State Department offices dealing with China and the DPRK. As a result, the access of many State Department employees to the Internet was significantly limited. Currently, such access is almost completely restored, but the investigation is ongoing and it is not yet clear whether it will lead to any results.
