In the
first part of the article on Kyocera software, I tried to briefly describe the programs that are needed by users - those who consume the capabilities of office equipment. Today I will move to admin software, oriented not on the use of devices, but on their configuration.
Device Management - this is the name of this direction, and it is covered with the following tools: KYOnet Viewer, KYOnet Admin, KYOcount and KYOfleetmanager
The good news: working with admin programs will not require any unexpected knowledge or special skills. The simplicity of working with software is one, albeit small, but a component of the SALT (Total Cost of Ownership) indicator, and Kyocera, whose low SALT is a priority, tries to make the programs more convenient and more understandable.

The simplest, necessary, and most importantly - sufficient in most cases, the application:
KYOnet ViewerOpportunities:
- automatically finds devices on the web;
- Shows comprehensive device information (name, version, firmware, etc.);
- device monitoring (network settings, print status, consumables status, etc.);
- remote device configuration;
- collecting data from the meters (but storing this data in databases is not supported);
- event mail messages (for example, “paper out”, “paper jam”, “toner is running out”, etc.);
- supports device grouping (including and by features, for example, show all devices with low toner);
- management is supported at once by groups (this is when one parameter can be changed not for one device, but for several at once).
This solution can be called basic - it covers the main tasks of managing a fleet of devices in small and medium-sized enterprises.
If you need something more serious, then the next step is:
KYOnet Admin
This is a client-server solution that requires separate computing power for itself, but also provides the appropriate capabilities: servicing up to 3000 devices, absolute and complete coverage of all the above KMnet Viewer features, plus additional ones:
- storing information in databases;
- creating automatic scheduled reports and sending them by e-mail;
- device firmware update;
- access to the interface via WEB, which allows you to manage a fleet of devices from anywhere in the world.
It is recommended to install on a dedicated server. The need for an application in the face of large companies is beyond doubt.
A utility for working with meters is allocated to its own separate class:
KYOcount
Able to compile reports by period, by device type, by paper size, etc. etc. - the program is indispensable for planning device maintenance, purchasing paper and consumables, you will always know which device is overloaded and which, on the contrary, is used little.
Of course, meter changes can be the basis for creating alerts. For example, toner runs out, paper runs out, scheduled maintenance time is suitable, etc.
KYOcount can collect statistics on devices from all branches of your company, and without special tricks with tunneling: all information from the periphery flows to the main manager node by mail:

I like this solution - simply and functionally.
For a snack - something immense:
KYOfleetmanager
From the title it is clear that the program is designed to solve certain global issues of managing the "fleet" of multifunction printers and printers. In reality - it is. This application is hosted by Kyocera itself, and access to it is provided mainly to MDS enterprises - service providers specializing in support, or some very large companies, which, in fact, themselves contain service departments.
If you are related to business support, then KYOfleetmanager is an indispensable solution. With it, you can track the status of devices of all your customers - regardless of their territorial location. You can even watch the status of devices serviced by competitors. But the access level is regulated in each case:

The system allows you to fine-tune the work of alerts and reports: you can keep customers abreast of maintenance plans, important events, provide them with reports on actions, etc., in the end - satisfied support and satisfied customers. (WEB-address of the application KYOfleetmanager is
predictable , but without an account there is nothing to look at except the login page).
This was a brief excursion into the admin Kyocera software. The next article on software will be devoted to control applications for the distribution of work performed between KYocera devices in the enterprise — a topic relevant for large companies, where even small savings on paper or toner for individual printing devices are put together in very serious output figures in general.
