The President of Mongolia announced that his country will join the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) project. According to the stated intentions, by 2010 the Mongolian government will provide each child with a laptop with Internet access.
Mongolian (and not only) children can get their laptops as part of the
Give 1 Get 1 program that starts on November 12 in the US and Canada, under the terms of which the buyer can purchase one XO laptop for $ 399. In fact, this money will be enough to buy two laptops, but one will go to the buyer, and the second will go the charity route to children of developing countries.
In the near future, the project organizers
plan to sell 20,000 XO laptops intended for children from 6 to 12 years old, living both in Ulaanbaatar and on the periphery of the country.
