Be kind to programmers

- You're so lucky you're a programmer. I would like to be a programmer.
- Why don't you learn?
- I tried, went to the codeacademy and other sites, but this is not mine.
- Yes, programming is really not for everyone.
- You get paid well and you can create different things. Almost every day you get crazy offers for at least 100 thousand dollars.
- Yes, it is very flattering. Slightly blows the roof, to be honest.
- You get your share in the company, everyone respects the engineers. You can translate any idea into the app and become rich. And you don't need to hire anyone.
- In fact, programming makes me miserable.
- Wow. In the sense of?
- To be a good programmer, I need to develop a special mindset. He makes me sad. I notice this in other programmers - not in all - but in many.
- What is this mindset?
- Concentration on flaws, not merits.
- Why do you need this to become a good coder?
- I work like this:
1. I write the code
2. Run it
3. I receive an error message
4. I find a mistake and return to step 1.
I do this hour after hour, day after day. In constant search, what is wrong with what I have done, rarely thinking about what is good about it. This is a negative feedback system.
- Wow.
“When I'm not in Vim, I'm in a bug tracker — a list of flaws.” A list of what is broken and requires correction. A list of where I screwed up.
- I think you are too dramatized. In addition, is correcting errors and crossing them out of this list does not bring pleasure?
- brings, of course. In programming a lot of incredibly enjoyable and inspiring. But this does not negate for me the fact that, over time, programming creates a very negative mindset. I always ask "what is wrong here?". Positive people are always looking for “what's so good about it?”
