The Personal Thermograph team solves the problem of early detection and monitoring of diseases with the help of infrared thermal diagnostics. Thermal signs of diseases appear before their clinical manifestations and much earlier than structural changes are detected. This also applies to exacerbations of chronic diseases. The method is non-invasive, absolutely safe and has no restrictions for home use.
At the moment, the team carried out research, development and technological work to create a prototype of the Personal Thermal Imager and study the thermographic signs of benign skin tumors and melanomas, cerebral circulatory insufficiency, inflammatory diseases of the knee joints.
Based on these studies, a hardware-software complex CEM®-ThermoDiagnostics was developed, which included:
Infrared Pyrometer
Transmitting device (radio module providing information transfer from the pyrometer to a personal computer or laptop)
The proposed solution can be used both independently and as part of other telemedicine systems. The diagnostic platform is based on standard approaches in building such systems: the primary source of information (for a patient) is a thermograph, pre-processing, storage and transmission of information directly on the device, transmission of monitoring results via communication channels using standard GSM, wi-fi technologies via the Internet, storing a single database of thermograms for collecting statistics and the subsequent improvement of techniques from different patients - on the server. The final decision on the results of the monitoring should be made by the doctor. The task of the MDU is to draw the patient’s attention to the problem in time. ')
Key elements of MDU:
The sensing element - pyrometer, is connected via a digital channel to the processor, in which further processing is carried out in accordance with the developed techniques.
Camera: allows you, after image processing, to get a photo with a thermogram superimposed on it for a better visual assessment of the state and dynamics of the disease.
An internal database is built in the MDU, in which the results of previous sessions are stored in order to compare the results of the current session with the previous one and to evaluate the dynamics of the course of the disease over differential thermograms.
The hardware solution of the MDU is based on a single-board computer based on an ARM processor (SoC solution) with the necessary sensitive elements connected to it and additional devices such as a pyrometer (one or several), a pressure-sensitive screen, communication devices (3G module and the WiFi 802.11g module).
The control program is implemented as an application based on Linux.
MDU is based on standard and mass-produced components, which allows you to quickly begin production of MDU. The cost price of a mobile diagnostic device is no more than $ 40, and the retail price will be about $ 300-350.
