Webby Prize has come to Runet

The world's most famous Webby Awards website contest, which is called the Internet Oscar, this year got a Russian representation . Russia became the 24th country where the Organizing Committee appointed its official representative. His authority is to provide full information and organizational support for Russian participants, to help resolve issues of payment for participation, evaluation and adaptation of competitive projects, obtaining certificates and awards.

The creators of the best websites, advertising banners, network videos, services for mobile phones, etc. are invited to participate in the competition. (more than a hundred nominations). In each nomination there are two laureates: one is chosen by a professional jury, the other by ordinary users of the Network through open voting. The works will be evaluated also by foreign members, therefore in the majority of nominations sites in Russian are practically useless to nominate, as the organizers themselves warn about.

The Webb Award is the most famous and authoritative award awarded annually to the world's best Internet projects. Last year, the jury selected more than 100 winners among 8,000 works from 60 countries of the world. The award's jury includes more than 550 experts from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, among them musician David Bowie and creator of the Simpsons cartoon Matt Greining.

The Webby Awards was established in 1996, but for 11 years Russian works have never won.

The cost of participation of sites and banners is about 5600 rubles. 3700 rubles worth the participation of network videos. The price of nomination for the competition of one work in one nomination is indicated.

The deadline for filing preferential applications is November 2, 2007. Applications under the general conditions will be accepted until December 14, 2007.

In the nominations "Network Art", "Visual Design" and some other Russian languages ​​will not cause difficulties for the jury. Works submitted in other categories and categories (for example, Interactive Advertising, Films and Videos on the Internet) must be provided with a full translation into English, subtitles or dubbing.

English-language works of Russian authors can be submitted independently using the mail form of the Webby Awards website or with the help of an Official Representative in Russia. The participation of Russian-language works is recommended only after consulting with Maxim Semenov.
