ThinkPad 20 years old

Today, Lenovo (which bought out the laptop and PC manufacturing business from IBM) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the ThinkPad lineup. Many of the representatives of the Habrasoobschestva ThinkPad prefer any other notebook models. I first saw the ThinkPad with my boss back in 1999, and this laptop (I don’t remember the model now) just hit me.

The ThinkPad line is recognizable primarily due to its outlines (it is worth noting here that the design of the case was created after the developers were impressed with the bento box Japanese lunch boxes), an excellent keyboard, a red manipulator located right on the keyboard.

Now the range of these laptops is constantly updated with powerful models (including the model with dual display), as well as ultrabooks.

In celebration of the 20 years of the model, Lenovo has released several booklets, and also created a smart online presentation that shows the history of the creation of the ThinkPad, as well as the basic idea that underlies. You can view the presentation here .

Below you can also view a video with a detailed history of the entire line, as well as find a reference to the graphical “tree of evolution” of the ThinkPad.
