IBM develops chipset for wireless networks, which is 100 times faster than Wi-Fi
IBM is going to change the way video is delivered: the company announced the creation of microprocessor-based chipsets for wireless networks that will be able to transmit high definition video between computers, TVs and handheld devices in the time it takes to press the Play button. This, of course, is an exaggeration, but in theory a 10 GB file can be transferred, no less, in 5 seconds!
IBM, together with MediaTek, is going to create ultra-fast chipsets that will allow users to get rid of the wires necessary for connecting HDTV-TVs to set-top boxes and / or other devices at home and in offices. The chipsets will work using a technology based on the use of a range of millimeter radio waves ( mmWave ) and will be able to receive data at least 100 times faster than Wi-Fi.
